An Outstanding Student...

  • shows leadership through participation and attendance in class;
  • outstanding contributions through classroom engagement and attentiveness;
  • helps and encourages others in class during group work and collaboration;
  • shows respect for students, faculty, and the college community;
  • shows an ability to overcome obstacles, and achieve goals;
  • achieves academic progress towards academic excellence through self-discipline;
  • seeks out college resources such as tutoring, conversation groups, extra help during office hours, reading and listening labs;
  • models learning strategies, and assists classmates in class, and outside of class through campus involvement in peer tutoring, or sharing educational experiences;
  • inspires the lifelong application and joy of learning.
